Duties

  • Conduct title examinations to determine ownership of oil and gas properties.
  • Analyze documents such as deeds, leases, and contracts to establish ownership rights.
  • Draft title opinions identifying defects, liens, or issues affecting property ownership.
  • Perform due diligence for oil and gas transactions, including mergers and acquisitions.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate agreements and contracts, ensuring compliance with laws.
  • Stay updated on relevant federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with litigation attorneys for dispute resolution if necessary.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to execute complex legal transactions.
  • Meet quarterly billable requirement of 450 hours.
  • Engage in continuous learning and support other projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active license with at least one year of experience drafting title opinions in Oklahoma.
  • Familiarity with preparing large, unit-wide division order ownerships.
  • Exceptional commitment to ethical practice and client confidentiality.
