Job Overview
A law firm is seeking a Technical Advisor to support its Patent Prosecution and Litigation practice within the Electrical Engineering and Software team in Las Vegas, Nevada. This role involves assisting attorneys with patent drafting, prosecution, and litigation support related to advanced wireless technologies. The position focuses on technologies related to wireless communication standards, including 5G, 6G, and 3GPP. It offers an opportunity to work closely with legal teams on intellectual property strategy and technical analysis.

Duties

• Assist attorneys with drafting and prosecuting patent applications related to electrical engineering and software technologies
• Support patent litigation matters through technical analysis and documentation
• Analyze complex wireless communication technologies and industry standards
• Conduct technical research related to patentability and prior art
• Collaborate with attorneys on patent strategy and intellectual property protection
• Prepare technical materials and documentation to support legal arguments and filings
• Assist with evaluating inventions and preparing related patent application materials

Requirements

• 1 to 6 years of intellectual property experience involving patent drafting or prosecution
• Background in electrical engineering, computer science, or a closely related technical field
• Experience analyzing complex technical systems and technologies
• Ability to work effectively with attorneys on patent prosecution and litigation matters
• Design engineering experience at a semiconductor or chip company is considered beneficial
• Familiarity with wireless communication standards such as 5G, 6G, or 3GPP is helpful but not required

Education and Certifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline
