Job Overview

A law firm seeks a junior-level Corporate Mergers and Acquisitions Associate for its Fort Lauderdale office. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated transactions for high-profile clients across various industries, both domestically and internationally, while enjoying the unique quality of life in South Florida.

Duties

  • Draft, review, and negotiate acquisition and ancillary agreements for complex M&A and private equity transactions.
  • Lead critical transaction workstreams, including due diligence.
  • Manage tax, benefits, real estate, and other specialists.
  • Interface with clients on transaction workstreams.
  • Assist with closing preparations and ensure post-closing obligations are met.

Requirements

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Florida Bar or willingness to become admitted promptly.
  • 2-4 years of M&A, private equity, and general corporate experience at a national or regional law firm.
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a high-volume practice.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to accept significant responsibility.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with cross-border transactions.
  • Familiarity with private equity transactions.
  • Comfort working directly with clients and managing multiple deals simultaneously.

Education

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the Florida Bar or willingness to become admitted promptly.
