Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Bankruptcy and Restructuring Associate to join its Dallas, Texas office. The successful candidate will collaborate with senior attorneys on complex Chapter 11 cases, bankruptcy litigation, and restructuring matters, taking on significant responsibilities in legal research, drafting motions, and advising clients in high-stakes insolvency cases.

Duties

  • Support the bankruptcy group under attorney supervision.
  • Draft legal documents for attorney review and approval.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, court personnel, and third parties.
  • Conduct factual investigations and analyze file data.
  • Organize case records and maintain electronic and hardcopy files.
  • Balance priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Log and submit case time and expense billing.
  • Provide regular case updates to supervising attorneys.
  • Collaborate well with team members and external contacts.
  • Travel for trials up to 25-30% as assigned.

Requirements

  • Graduated from an accredited Texas Law School with strong academic credentials.
  • Licensed to practice in Texas and in good standing with the Texas State Bar Association.
  • Three to seven years of bankruptcy experience.
  • Experience with Chapter 11 cases and bankruptcy litigation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Software.
  • Experience with practice and case management databases.
  • Excellent English communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Willingness to work additional hours and weekends as needed.

Education

  • Juris Doctor from an accredited Texas Law School.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Texas.
