Job Title: Senior-Level Affordable Housing Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A distinguished law firm based in Cincinnati, OH, is seeking a highly experienced legal professional to join its Affordable Housing practice. This role is designed for a senior-level attorney with a deep understanding of affordable housing transactions, including development, financing, and incentives. The position offers the opportunity to engage in impactful work with diverse clients—including developers, investors, and public sector entities—across multiple jurisdictions.

Duties:

  • Lead and manage a wide variety of affordable housing legal matters from inception to completion

  • Provide legal support for real estate transactions involving Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC), including both 4% and 9% transactions

  • Draft, analyze, and negotiate legal agreements and transaction documentation

  • Conduct due diligence for acquisitions, dispositions, refinancings, and partnership exits

  • Collaborate directly with clients, government agencies, investors, and lenders

  • Strategically identify legal issues and propose practical solutions early in project development

  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely completion of legal aspects of deals

Requirements:

  • Minimum of six (6) years of legal experience in affordable housing law

  • Substantial experience with LIHTC transactions and related real estate development projects

  • Proven track record managing transactions and negotiating with multiple parties

  • Familiarity with legal issues affecting developers, syndicators, lenders, and nonprofit partners

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited, nationally recognized law school

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in the State of Ohio

Skills:

  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills

  • Confident communicator and negotiator

  • Detail-oriented and capable of high-level project oversight

  • Comfortable working independently and within collaborative legal teams

  • Skilled at maintaining positive client relationships and delivering high-quality legal advice
