Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Associate Litigation Attorney to join its Chicago, Illinois office. This hybrid position requires a civil litigator with 3-5 years of experience in the General Liability and Toxic Tort Practice Groups. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional research, writing, and litigation skills.

Duties

  • Manage cases proactively from start to finish in state and federal courts.
  • Draft pleadings, written discovery, motions, and conduct related research.
  • Engage in frequent client communications and reporting.
  • Perform comprehensive legal analysis, case evaluations, and strategy recommendations.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with expert witnesses.
  • Attend depositions, court hearings, and mediations.
  • Prepare for and attend trials.

Requirements

  • J.D. degree from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice in Illinois; additional state licenses are a plus.
  • 3-5 years of litigation and Toxic Tort experience in state and federal courts.
  • Ability to manage caseload proactively from start to finish.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to self-manage and work in a team environment.
  • Excellent research, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional client service and contributing to client development.

Education

  • J.D. degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Illinois.
