Job Overview
A law firm seeks a Litigation Associate Attorney to join its Toxic Torts Defense practice in Norfolk, Virginia. This role involves supporting active litigation in state and federal courts nationwide.

Duties

  • Assist with all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, mediations, hearings, and trials.
  • Draft dispositive motions, discovery motions, and briefs.
  • Take and defend depositions with partner support.
  • Argue motions commensurate with experience.
  • Support case preparation for state and federal proceedings.
  • Engage in direct client contact and manage discrete workstreams.

Requirements

  • JD degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active State Bar license.
  • One to three years of litigation experience preferred.
  • Experience preparing for federal and state court cases.
  • Experience drafting and managing pleadings, briefs, depositions, mediations, hearings, and trials.
  • Detail-oriented, good communicator with strong writing and organizational skills.
  • Asbestos and/or talc litigation experience is preferred, but not required.

Education

  • JD degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active State Bar license.
