Job Overview
A well-established Texas-based law firm is seeking a Real Estate Attorney with 5–12 years of experience to join its Austin office. This role is ideal for an entrepreneurial legal professional with a substantial portable book of business (minimum $200,000) who is eager to collaborate with an experienced team and help grow a dynamic real estate practice. The position offers the opportunity to lead client engagements, develop new business, and contribute to strategic practice group expansion.

Location

Duties

  • Represent developers, investors, buyers, and sellers in real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, and leasing

  • Provide legal counsel on real estate finance, including commercial loan transactions

  • Advise on entitlements, zoning regulations, land use issues, and environmental compliance

  • Draft and negotiate legal agreements such as purchase and sale agreements, leases, easements, and development contracts

  • Advise and manage issues related to homeowners' associations, including governance, compliance, and dispute resolution

  • Collaborate with attorneys across practice groups to cross-sell services and expand client offerings

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience practicing real estate law, with an established record of client representation and business development

  • Minimum portable book of business of $200,000

  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage real estate transactions and provide strategic legal guidance

  • Desire to contribute to team development and firm-wide collaboration

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in the State of Texas and in good standing

Skills

  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

  • Proficiency in handling a variety of complex real estate legal matters
