Duties

  • Develop and maintain data protection strategies, policies, and procedures.
  • Advise on data protection and AI legal developments.
  • Review and negotiate vendor and client contracts.
  • Monitor compliance with data protection laws and firm policies.
  • Support the firm's health plan privacy program.
  • Coordinate with Records Management on retention policies.
  • Assist with client data protection audits and inquiries.
  • Support incident response and remediation efforts.
  • Develop data protection training programs.
  • Promote a culture of data protection within the firm.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of data protection and privacy risk experience.
  • Experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
  • Strong understanding of contract law and data protection principles.
  • Knowledge of U.S. privacy laws and GDPR.

Education

  • JD from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active bar license in state of residence and office location.
  • CIPP/US and CIPP/AIGP certifications preferred.
