Poole Brooke Plumlee PC (previously Huff, Poole & Mahoney, P.C.), celebrates more than twenty-five years of legal service to the community.
Huff, Poole & Mahoney, P.C. was founded in Virginia Beach, Virginia in the late 80s by Glen A. Huff. Glen?s long-range career goal was achieved in 2011 with his appointment as a Judge to the Virginia Court of Appeals. In light of his appointment, the firm changed its name to Poole Mahoney PC.
In order to better serve client needs in the evolving legal marketplace, on January 1, 2016, the firm spun-off its family law practice and changed its name to Poole Brooke Plumlee PC. "This exciting decision is part of a long term, client-driven strategic plan that reflects a natural market segmentation," says Albert H. Poole, the firm's Managing Shareholder. "Commercial practice firms like ours which represent businesses and organizations are benefitting from an increased focus on corporate, litigation and estate planning matters while moving away from a general family law department. In addition, across the country, family law practitioners are seeing benefits to clients from organizing into boutique firms that are focused soley on domestic relations matters such as divorce and custody."
Our first office opened in 1987 in Virginia Beach. To keep up with client needs, we added an office in Chesapeake in 2009 and a Portsmouth office in 2013. With three locations and attorneys licensed to practice in Virginia, North Carolina, Ohio and South Carolina, our attorneys are equipped to serve our clients.
Not only has the firm experienced demographic growth, but also personal growth. Our attorneys have grown to positions of Judges for the General District Court, Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court and Virginia Court of Appeals, Members of the Virginia House of Delegates, Executive Director of a large non-profit, Attorney General of Virginia and the Governor of Virginia.
The firm has been recognized for its contributions to the legal profession, as well as to the community. Many of our attorneys have been recognized by Best Lawyers in America, Legal Elite, Super Lawyers, Top Forty Under 40 and Best of Hampton Roads. The firm has achieved an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell which is the highest overall rating for a law firm.
