We wrote the book on personal injury law

There is a common perception that there are a lot of frivolous injury claims. Lawyers who lack integrity, and clients who exaggerate their injuries, feed this perception, making it impossible for them and for many others to obtain a fair result in the event of an injury.

We take a different approach. We work tirelessly every single day to overcome this common perception. When we work with clients, we're brutally honest and fair, and we demonstrate absolute integrity throughout our handling of a case. We explain our approach in our 2014 book entitled, And Justice for All: Win Your Injury Case with Honesty and Integrity.

By representing clients in this manner, we frequently convince insurance adjusters and jurors to help our client rather than believing that our case is just another frivolous claim.

In our book, we explain step by step the process we follow in most personal injury cases. The legal justice system can be difficult and confusing. We want to demystify the process, change perceptions, and consistently deliver fair results for clients - one case at a time.
How We Are Different...

Reason 1
Reason 2
Reason 3

Reason 1: We care about you.

We are a different breed of trial attorneys. The bulk of our professional time is spent getting medical treatment for our clients, and getting medical bills and lost wages paid. You can reach us at our office between about 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. on weekdays. Our clients are our friends and have our cell numbers and email addresses. They can reach us there about 20 hours a day, 7 days a week! Our goals are to help you recover from your injuries, and to make the community a safer and better place. We're here for you when you need us most.

Reason 2: We give back to our community

We don't just work here. This is our home. We established The Bretz & Young Charitable Foundation to continue community service work into the future. We give back by serving on boards for organizations like United Way, TECH (The Training and Evaluation Center of Hutchinson), Sexual Assault/Domestic Violence Center, and Communities that Care. A portion of the fees from every settlement or judgment we obtain goes to community charitable organizations such as United Way, Red Cross, TECH, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Early Education, the Cancer Council of Reno County, Hospice, and area schools. Our attorneys and staff donate blood regularly and participate in community events. And we provide books to every toddler and preschool child in the Buhler and Haven school districts through the Dolly Parton Imagination Library. Our actions demonstrate how much we truly care about our community.

Reason 3: We are making Kansas a safer place to live.

Our primary concern in every case is whether we are meeting our client's immediate and future needs. But we also believe that thoughtful and zealous representation can go beyond helping our clients though difficult situations - we can make safer communities by standing up to injustices and improving the well-being of the people who make these communities their home. Because of our cases and advocacy efforts, trains now have ditch lights mounted at the height of car windshields to help reduce the possibility of collisions. A Kansas hospital has new procedures to prevent medication errors. And redesigned wheels are used on motorcycles so that the rims of the tires don't break.
