Ericksen Arbuthnot

Founded in 1950 by A.D. Ericksen, a former Idaho attorney, judge, and district attorney, and his son, Preston (Press) N. Ericksen, who had recently returned from serving in World War II, Ericksen Arbuthnot is one of the oldest, continually-operating law firms in California. In 1969, Robert (Bob) Arbuthnot joined the firm and the practice flourished, resulting in the opening of the San Francisco office in 1967, the Sacramento office in 1970, and the Fresno office in 1974. In 1983, the first female partner in the history of the firm, Julia F. Day, opened the firm's San Jose office, which was followed closely by the opening of the Los Angeles office, thus expanding Ericksen Arbuthnot's reach throughout the state and establishing it as a truly regional, California-centric law firm. Throughout its 70 years of operation, Ericksen Arbuthnot has remained committed to professional excellence and has cultivated a talented and diverse group of people to make up the firm.
