Alfred Newton Solicitors

Anthony Penman is the Senior Partner of the Practice and is only the fourth Senior Partner since Alfred Newton & Co was founded in 1933. He did not follow the traditional route to becoming a Solicitor but left school at sixteen and after employment in the local steel works, a local newspaper as a Letter Press Printer, gravitated to his first office job with an insurance company (he qualified for the first year of their exams) and then the Civil Service (Inland Revenue).
