Ms. Mkrtchyan started her legal career as a deputy public defender, having received extensive trial training from some of the best trial lawyers in California. Very early she earned the reputation of a talented trial lawyer, having gotten acquittals and dismissals in hundreds of criminal cases, involving charges of DUI, domestic violence, drugs, sex cases, fraud, theft. She participated in numerous trial programs at the California Public Defender's Association and tried more cases in just a couple of years than most attorneys in their entire career. In 2008 she was included and interviewed in a TV program 'Inside Kern' designed to educate the public about the job of public defenders in Kern County and their important role in the criminal justice system.
