The Small Business Law Center, founded by Attorney Stephen D. Coffin, is dedicated to making legal representation and counsel accessible and affordable for small business owners. We recognize the demands on the time of owners, and the daily pressures they face. Small business owners usually wear many hats, and are often responsible for marketing, sales, finance, production - and, most importantly, making payroll. We can help owners focus on what they do best, and deal effectively and affordably with the myriad legal and other issues that must be addressed in the course of running a small business.

We have helped small businesses start up and wind down, collect delinquent accounts and negotiate with creditors, find capital and deal with government agencies, protect personal assets and plan their estates, deal with immigration issues and review vital contracts. Whatever your problem, we have probably dealt with it before and can give you the benefit of our experience.

While our hourly rates are quite reasonable, we prefer to quote fixed fees whenever the nature of the work allows. We know that cash flow is critical for small businesses, and the more predictable your expenses, the better you can plan for them. Also, by keeping our overhead low, we are able to keep our fees affordable, so small businesses can get the help they need when they need it. You should not be afraid to call your lawyer because you think you can't afford to.
