Ostrolenk Faber LLP dates back to the late 1920s, when Samuel Ostrolenk, an Examiner in the United States Patent Office, decided to open up his own law firm in Washington D.C. He later moved his practice to New York. While working on a complex litigation case in the late 1930s, Mr. Ostrolenk met trial lawyer Sidney Faber. Mr. Faber's substantial litigation experience and his aptitude for understanding new technologies and complicated inventions founded the basis for their relationship. By 1939, Mr. Ostrolenk had moved his practice to 10 East 40th Street in midtown Manhattan. In that space, Mr. Ostrolenk's practice continued to grow for the next 35 years by specializing in the intellectual property areas of patents, trademarks, and copyrights. On January 1, 1948, Ostrolenk and Faber formally named their firm Ostrolenk & Faber. Over the years, Ostrolenk Faber has added lawyers with diverse undergraduate and graduate degrees in order to provide the highest quality service to a growing number of national and international clients.
