Paul Doolittle and Fritz Jekel met as law students at the University of South Carolina School of law and fast became best friends. Their legal careers have followed similar paths, both trial attorneys at Motley Rice. In 2007 Paul decided to take a sabbatical from the practice of law and the day to day grind of being a trial attorney in a large nationwide firm and left Motley Rice. In the summer of 2008 the two began exploring the possibility of opening their own law firm where they could specialize in complex legal matters and stay closer to home. A notion they had originally discussed while studying for law school exams many years before.
The Firm is committed to treat every client with respect and the professionalism they deserve. This will include timely return of phone calls and regular updates on the status of litigation. In their experience an informed client is a well represented client. The firm is committed to provide a "hands on" approach with the client and to ensure the client understands the personal relationship with them is valued.
Paul and Fritz have unique backgrounds, more than 30 years experience on highly complex and contentious legal matters with a history of results. The two have successfully litigated to verdict a variety of legal matters and have seen situations that most lawyers may never encounter. The nature of our experience is one only a few lawyers ever experience (Being part of 100 million dollar trial team/ trying a consolidated trial of over 10000 injured victims/ being appointed lead counsel in a complex or class action) The two felt that a smaller firm would allow them to ensure a comprehensive approach to all matters pursued by the Firm. The two believe that all matters should have a litigation resolution plan to ensure progress on matters taken.
The Firm will pursue litigation aggressively to ensure a fair and complete resolution for our clients, but will not compromise ethics and professionalism.
The Firm will seek to assist other trial lawyers with the handling of their complex cases. Offering assistance at any level of the proceedings. The two have a background in most major litigation and feel they can add value to the representation in a variety of ways, from assisting with the drafting of pleading and discovery, to assistance with defense depositions and trial.
