Since his graduation in 1995 from the University of Houston Law Center, Stanley has held various jobs in the judicial system.

Stanley recently left his position as First Assistant District Attorney in the Anderson County District Attorney's office.During his time in the DA's office Stanley successfully tried over 100 cases to jury verdict, wrote and had affirmed over 50 appeals, and twice successfully argued before the 12th Court of Appeals.In 2008, Stanley became board certified in criminal law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.While in the District Attorney's Office, Stanley has prosecuted cases ranging from Class C traffic tickets to Capital Murder.
Prior to his employment with Anderson County, Stanleyworked as an Assistant District Attorney in Cameron County, Texas.In Cameron County, Stanley served as the Chief Juvenile Prosecutor and worked in the civil division where he represented the Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services in cases of child removal and protection.

During law school and after graduation, Stanley worked for a Justice of the Peace in Harris County, Texas.While in the JP's office, Stanley held positions as the civil department supervisor where he filed evictions and small claims suits, managed the court's civil docket, ran the court's mediation program and occasionally mediated civil disputes, as a traffic clerk where he entered traffic tickets and negotiated traffic settlements in court, and as the assistant chief clerk where he performed all of the above functions as well as supervised a 25+ person staff.
