Allen & Newman PLLC

Founded in 1995 in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Allen & Newman, PLLC is a defense Firm where the client takes top priority. Due to the evolving legal environment, Founding Member David Allen left a large insurance defense Firm with a vision and desire to start a more forward-thinking and progressive practice with a focus on efficiency and excellence in legal representation. While Allen & Newman was originally established as a "boutique" law firm specializing in the defense of workers' compensation claims, the Firm's early success led to rapid evolution and expansion.

Clients began seeking representation throughout Tennessee and soon it became clear, based on business volume, that additional offices would be needed to effectively and efficiently handle the growing client base. We opened our Nashville, TN office in August 1999, and during this same time, our client base continued to expand, as did the mix and variety of incoming business. Our Firm began to add additional staff and attorneys, seeking qualified, experienced counsel whose client-centered goals and work ethics matched those of the Firm. We also began to expand our representation to include all civil litigation.

In the early 2000s, our Firm was approached about the possibility of representing several clients outside of Tennessee, which soon prompted the opening of additional offices around the southeast. These offices included our Lexington, Kentucky office, which was opened in September 2003, and the Firm's first South Carolina offices, in Columbia and Hilton Head Island, opening in July 2005. Between April 2006 and August 2007 our Firm expanded into three more states with the opening of a Jackson, Mississippi office, a Charlotte, North Carolina office, and a Birmingham, Alabama office.

Allen & Newman, PLLC now represents clients in all counties throughout Alabama, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee, allowing our clients to limit their counsel over a wide geographic area.

The Firm produces reference materials on a number of subjects, which are updated yearly and provided free of charge to our clients. The Firm maintains a website for client updates and provides free on-site seminars, upon request, to clients. Allen & Newman, PLLC has been recognized by A.M. Best as one of its recommended Defense Firms and our Firm was also invited to become one of the original members of the Claims & Litigation Management Alliance, formerly the Council on Litigation Management and the Council on Ethical Billing, which requires nomination and approval.
