In August of 2012, Les Bookoff and Roland McAndrews established Bookoff McAndrews, a law firm with a singular focus on high quality, strategic patent counseling and prosecution. The firm opened in a small office on Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington D.C. Within months, BoMc (as the firm would soon be called) outgrew its space. And not long after that initial growth, Les and Roland added Dinesh Melwani, Chris Agrawal and later Kirsten Johnson as partners , recognizing how instrumental they had been, and continue to be, in the firm?s growth and success. Just seven years after opening its doors, BoMc grew to over 30 attorneys, scores of high technology startups and Fortune 500 companies to call clients, and nationwide recognition typically reserved for much more established, larger firms. Our success is rooted in a talented, dedicated group of attorneys and staff, and in a recognition that companies seek value in sophisticated patent counseling.
Les Bookoff and Roland McAndrews have over 40 years of combined patent law experience. Prior to founding Bookoff McAndrews, both spent their legal careers as associates and then partners at a large, leading intellectual property firm. They left to fill a void in the marketplace ? a top-tier patent firm focused on strategic patent counseling at a better value than large IP firms. Their vision included experienced attorneys at reasonable prices to drive that value proposition, and core values of teamwork, diversity, and a proper work-life balance.
