About the founders
Suzanne Pigdon and Rosemary Norgate are seasoned, accredited specialists in family law, and founded Pigdon|Norgate in 2007. For over 10 the years, they have led a team and built a reputation for smart case strategies and dedicated client care. Suzanne and Rosemary represent our clients in the Family Court, the Federal Circuit Court and the Supreme Court as well as in mediation and collaborative forums.
Our approach
In family law, every case we see is different. Our approach is tailored to your specific needs and circumstances. Over the years, we have developed a helpful protocol to guide you through the process.
Conflict check: Before taking any case we make sure there is no potential conflict of interest with either of the parties.
Partner introduction: As a potential client, you will immediately speak to a lawyer. This is an introduction over the phone, usually with one of our principals, to get the basic details of your case and introduce our firm.
Initial consultation: You meet in person with one of our principals and the solicitor who will have day-to-day carriage of your matter. This meeting usually lasts 1-2 hours and covers the background information of you case, with a focus on parenting and property issues. We provide some preliminary advice when possible, lay out a number of options for resolutions, flag any key issues and recommend any specialist if necessary.
Strategy: Once we have all the relevant information, we craft a case strategy to fit your goals and circumstances.
Execution & support: Some cases take time and this can be a frustrating experience. Our priority is to keep you informed throughout the process and provide all the support you may need to be able to move on with your life.
Resolution: Most family law cases resolve either through an agreement, on court of as a result of a Collaborative Law process.
We cover all areas of family law, from separation to child support. Our process is tailored to the specifics of each case, beginning with a deep understanding of your circumstances to formulate the best strategy.
