Dr. Avigdor Klagsbald is one of Israel's top attorneys.
He received his LL.B. (cum laude) from Tel Aviv University in 1980 and his LL.M. (summa cum laude) in 1982. His master's thesis was on the topic of "Basic Laws in Israel ? Towards a Written Constitution" (under the supervision of Prof. Baruch Bracha). In 1983-1985, he wrote his doctorate on "State Commissions of Inquiry in Israel" under the supervision of Prof. Amnon Rubinstein.
Dr. Klagsbald taught constitutional law at Tel Aviv University's Faculty of Law, at IDC Herzliya, and at the College of Management. He also taught elective courses in the field of constitutional law, including "The Responsibility of Government", "Constitutional Remedies" and "Rules of Procedure in the High Court of Justice" and led a seminar in constitutional law on the topic of "Selected Issues in Constitutional Law" together with Prof. A. Rubinstein.
In 1985, Dr. Klagsbald, together with Dr. Yoram Danziger (retired Supreme Court Justice), founded leading law firm Danziger, Klagsbald & Co. The firm engaged in litigation, high-tech, venture capital funds, commercial and property law, with Dr. Klagsbald heading the firm's litigation practice. In 2008, Dr. Klagsbald established his current firm, which specializes in litigation across all branches of law and across the judicial hierarchy.
According to the firm's mode of practice, Dr. Klagsbald personally leads the management of each of the cases undertaken by the firm.
Over the years, Dr. Klagsbald has represented leading corporations and key figures in the business and public domains in complex disputes in all areas of the law and before various tribunals.
Dr. Klagsbald has represented three Israeli prime ministers, Ariel Sharon, Ehud Barak and Binyamin Netanyahu, as well as cabinet ministers and members of Knesset, including, among others, former Minister of Defense Shaul Mofaz, former Minister of Foreign Affairs Silvan Shalom, former Minister of Culture & Sport Limor Livnat, former Public Security Minister Yitzhak Aharonovich and former MK Yair Tzaban.
Dr. Klagsbald has represented Israeli and foreign giant corporations, including Israel Discount Bank and IDB Group, Yedioth Aharonot, Israel Hayom, Mivtach Shamir and LR Group, Alrov, Medinol, Sonol, Delek, Bezeq, Pelephone, ORL, Meshulam Levinstein, Siemens Israel, Yam Tethys, Club Hotel, KIA International, Peretz Bonei HaNegev, Habas Investments, DSP Group, Unipharm, Malam Systems, financial corporations and insurance companies, including Bank Hapoalim, Psagot Investment House, companies from the Harel Group and others.
Dr. Klagsbald has also represented renowned Israeli and foreign businessmen, including Mr. Sheldon G. Adelson, Mr. Ofer Nimrodi, Mr. Shlomo Eisenberg, the Podhorzer family, Mr. Avi Naor, Mr. Tom Kaplan, Mr. Teddy Sagi and others.
In addition, Dr. Klagsbald serves as an arbitrator on behalf of the State of Israel in an international arbitration taking place in Switzerland.
