History

In October 1996, Dowway & Partners was founded by a group of young lawyers with a strong sense of mission and responsibility in the industry. At the beginning of its establishment, the firm took the philosophy of "adhering to the sacred profession of lawyers and with the justice of law and belief in fairness, to united and devoted for mutual development under the same framework, so as to pursue a bright career" as its purpose and recorded in the Articles of Association of the Firm and has been handed down to this day.


Current situation

With more than 20 years' development and improvement, Dowway & Partners not only accumulated rich experience in providing diversified legal services to local enterprises and transnational corporations, including the top 500 enterprises in the world, as well as extensive professional support to Chinese government authorities at all levels in implementing the strategy of "governing the country by law", but also made achievement in protecting citizens' rights and interests. As a multi-business partnership law firm, Dowway & Partners extends its business to the fields of corporate commercial affairs, international trade & foreign investment, intellectual property protection, asset market, bank finance, real estate & construction projects, environment & natural resources, anti-monopoly & market competition, technology & innovation, criminal compliance and defense, dispute resolution and others, and holds an advantage position in relevant legal services market.


Dowway & Partners currently has branches in Shanghai, Tianjin, Guiyang, Zhengzhou and Shenyang. As of June 30, 2019, its headquarters is equipped with more than 130 professionals, nearly 30 of whom are equity partners. In terms of age structure, 20% of those equity partners are the generation after 60s, 52% are the generation after 70s, and 28% are the generation after 80s. More than two-thirds of the equity partners own more than 15 years' experience; several equity partners have won many honorary titles such as "Excellent Lawyers" and "Excellent Party Members" at the municipal and district levels in Beijing.
