Mr. James obtained the earliest possible highest rating of "AV" in the Martindale-Hubbell law directory, and he has been listed in all 26 editions of the prestigious publication of Best Lawyers in America since its inception over 35 years ago through the present date.
Mr. James has received numerous awards in the area of family law. A few of the other professional awards and recognition of expertise in family law received by Mr. James include "Super Lawyers of the South" and national recognition as a "Top 10 Attorney" from the National Academy of Family Law Attorneys.
In 2019, Mr. James won the "Top 10 Attorney Award" for Excellence in the field of Family Law.
