In 1896, Juan Bautista Bance began a successful legal practice in Caracas, with an impressive list of clients and a wide network of relationships with the most recognized firms abroad.


In 1945 the Bance Firm was succeeded by a partnership, incorporated in 1951, named Mendoza, Palacios, Borjas, Paez Pumar y Compa?ia after the names of the active partners of the Bance firm: Carlos Mendoza, Esteban Palacios and Miguel A. Paez Pumar, jointly with Arminio Borjas.

The firm expanded by integrating some of the most talented legal counselors in Venezuela, such as Manuel Acedo Mendoza, Arminio Borjas and Leopoldo Borjas.


The firm's name was changed in 1973 to Mendoza, Palacios, Acedo, Borjas, Paez Pumar & Cia., its current name.


Throughout the history of Mendoza,Palacios, Acedo, Borjas, Paez Pumar & Cia., some of our lawyers have held important public and academic positions, such as: President and Judges of the Supreme Court of Justice, Directors and President of the Venezuelan Central Bank, Members of the Academy of Political and Social Sciences, Minister of Finance, Vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, Commissioner of the President of the Republic for Economic Matters, Minister of Economic Development, Vice-presidents of the Supreme Electoral Council and the first President of the Caracas Stock Exchange.
