About Ziontz Chestnut

Ziontz Chestnut, a Seattle law firm founded in 1963, is proud of its history of providing high-quality legal services and maintaining long-term client relationships. The firm has a national practice representing Indian tribes and related entities. Our seven attorneys, most of whom have been with the firm for nearly their entire legal careers, are dedicated to providing outstanding legal services to our clients, many of which the firm has represented for decades. The firm's attorneys practice in many complex and challenging areas of Indian and environmental law. These include: defending Indian treaty hunting and fishing rights in domestic and international venues; protecting tribal water rights; protecting other culturally and economically important natural resources; conceiving and negotiating complex economic development transactions on behalf of tribes; litigating multi-million dollar Indian claims cases; and securing tribal jurisdiction and reservation boundaries. Members of the firm are admitted to and have litigated in many forums across the United States, including the United States Supreme Court, federal courts of appeals and district courts, the United States Court of Federal Claims and United States Tax Court, as well as multiple state and tribal courts and administrative tribunals.
