At the Oldfather Law Firm, we believe strongly in helping others in our community and beyond. It is one reason why we've chosen to work as counselors and advocates, and one reason why we've chosen to do so at this law firm. While most of our work helping others is focused on legal representation of people who have been harmed by the negligence and malfeasance, it doesn't end there. We also contribute our time and treasure to a number of other worthy causes to help make our city, our state, and our nation a more caring and more abundant place.

In addition to the pro bono legal services employees of the Oldfather Law Firm provide on a regular basis, the firm also makes monthly and yearly contributions to numerous charitable endeavors. Below is a list of just some of the causes the Oldfather Law Firm supports and places where employees of the Oldfather Law Firm volunteer their time and resources to help others in need.

Cure CF Inc. is a nonprofit committed to finding a cure for cystic fibrosis, an inherited chronic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system of about 30,000 children and adults in the United States. All of the funds raised throughout each year support several efforts all across the country focused on cystic fibrosis research.

The Animal Care Society is a private No-Kill adoption agency whose purpose is to find new, safe, and loving forever homes for adoptable dogs and cats. ACS is a privately funded, volunteer driven organization whose financial support comes solely through annual subscription memberships, donations, and adoption fees. They receive no federal, state, or local government funding. Over the last ten years, ACS has placed over 8,000 pets into devoted and responsible homes.?

Every Christmas, the Oldfather Law Firm adopts a number of underprivileged children from our local schools to ensure that they have an enjoyable Christmas. Oldfather Law Firm employees shop for, wrap for, these children. In addition, Oldfather Law Firm employees help host a breakfast with the University Club for the children of Cochran Elementary. The children are fed a pancake breakfast and then meet with Santa, who passes out presents.

The Franciscan Shelter House is a refuge for the poor and homeless in downtown Louisville. It is open 5 days a week, providing 350 to 550 meals per day. It is staffed by 3 paid employees and up to 20 volunteers each day. The shelter house is sponsored by the Franciscan Friars who oversee its operation. It is also affiliated with Dare to Care, Kentucky Harvest, and many local businesses that supply food for meals, which are then prepared and served by volunteers.
The Flaget Alumni Association promotes educational and charitable grants designed to memorialize the spirit and memory of Flaget High School so that its spirit may be passed on to generations of the future. It also supports the ministry of the Xaverian Brothers to honor their commitment to education and the poor.
