Lea Shelemey is trained in the Collaborative Law Practice Method. The collaborative law process provides the parties an opportunity to resolve all issues through conferences and informal discussions, avoiding confrontation typically associated with the litigation process. Open communication between both parties and their collaboratively-trained attorneys encourages resolution without going to Court. Attorney Shelemey's practice philosophy favors negotiation and settlement as opposed to confrontation and litigation.
As a registered mediator trained in both domestic relations and civil mediation, Attorney Shelemey believes in communication and negotiation.
Lea Shelemey is also trained as a guardian ad litem and as a parenting coordinator.
