As a result, Van Hoy, Reutlinger, Adams & Pierce is able to deliver top quality legal representation at highly competitive rates.

Phil Van Hoy and Craig Reutlinger formed the firm in 1989, knowing that with a small organization they could focus on practicing law. Steve Dunn came to the firm in 1996 as a summer associate, then came to work full time after he graduated from law school in 1998. In 2000, Bryan Adams joined the firm as a full partner. In June 2019, Steve Dunn left the practice of law to engage solely in mediation through his new mediation practice Steve Dunn Mediation, and Grainger Pierce, who has practiced management-side employment law in Charlotte since 2000, joined the firm as a full partner.

All four attorneys focus on employment law, representing employers and executives for day-to-day guidance and every level of litigation. Craig Reutlinger and Grainger Pierce also are experienced in representing health care providers. Together, our attorneys have a breadth of experience and depth of knowledge equal to those of employment practice groups in the largest full service law firms.

Van Hoy, Reutlinger, Adams & Pierce does not try to be all things to all people. By maintaining a tight focus, we are able to keep up with the latest developments in employment and health care law. As recognized leaders in our field, we often associate with other lawyers or serve as local counsel in multi-state litigation. Our attorneys are frequently asked to comment on legal affairs by media organizations, or to serve as guest lecturers on college campuses or seminars for human resource professionals. In 2011, we became the sole North Carolina member firm of the Worklaw? Network, an international affiliation of employment law firms.
