HISTORY & COMMUNITY
Visser and Associates had its origins in 1977 when Donald Visser returned from law school with the idea of providing high quality cutting edge services that one might expect to find in a large firm, but with the personal touch of a small firm. His original office was in Grand Rapids downtown?s Waters Building. In 1978 he added Richard Bolhouse under the firm name Visser and Bolhouse, P.C. In 1982 he rehabilitated the historic Grandville State Bank Building in downtown Grandville, and the firm moved there for 23 years. In 2006, Visser and Bolhouse resolved their relationship and Visser and Associates relocated to its current location in easily accessible Kentwood, a few miles west of the Gerald R. Ford International Airport.

The attorneys at Visser and Associates have a long-standing commitment to the western Michigan area, its courts, and especially its people and businesses. Often that dedication comes in the form of assisting clients who know they are in the right, but have been discouraged by others with the ?difficulty? of their case. We attempt to look at each case with a fresh, innovative eye. Often, other attorneys refer cases to Visser and Associates that they believe are too difficult to undertake.

The attorneys at Visser and Associates are involved with civic groups like rotary, churches, community education and support of pro-bono mediation to assist in conflict resolution. Life in service to the community does not end at the office, but extends to each of the attorney?s personal lives.
