Pro Bono & Community
Attorneys at Dressler Peters are drawn to a culture that encourages them to dedicate substantial personal time and effort to pro bono work. We invest significantly by treating Pro Bono work internally as billable hours.
We give back to the community by representing people who cannot afford legal services. We are especially receptive to representing people with disabilities and organizations that support them. As examples, we dedicate pro bono hours to serve as panel counsel for the Jeanne A. Carpenter Legal Defense Fund of the Epilepsy Foundation of America; Black Fashion America; Black Fashion Week; Chicago Volunteer Legal Services; JUF Community Legal Services Law Clinic; Art Inspired; Abilities First; and Great Lakes Giant Schnauzer Rescue.
We also give back to the legal community by accepting pro bono cases for the Federal court system. As trial attorneys for the Seventh Circuit Court, we've been assigned a number of cases, including Section 1983 cases requiring a significant time commitment.
Additionally, our attorneys and staff all dedicate substantial personal time and effort to community service. For example, each year we co-sponsor a charity bike ride that has raised nearly $50,000 for children with disabilities.
