Nyhan, Bambrick, Kinzie & Lowry has built its legal practice on tough and aggressive, yet thoughtful, creative and cost-efficient defense of workers' compensation, occupational disease, and employer and civil liability claims. To this end, we frequently offer seminars for claims management and supervisory personnel. The roots of Nyhan, Bambrick, Kinzie & Lowry go back to the late 1950's. During this time, Thomas D. Nyhan joined the Chicago law firm Pope, Ballard, Shepard & Fowle to assist a veteran attorney in handling workers' compensation claims for General Motors Corporation. Nyhan's "helping out" turned into a 35-year journey as he became one of the premier workers' compensation defense attorneys in the state of Illinois. In January 1992, Nyhan, along with colleagues Gerry Bambrick, Hank Kinzie, and Ed Pfister, left Pope, Ballard and, along with Bill Lowry and four other attorneys, formed our firm. Although Mr. Nyhan retired at the end of 1994, he continued to consult with members of the firm on important issues up until his death in 2014. Bill Lowry is now the managing shareholder and has been joined by nine attorney/owners who lead our firm.
