When Donald Jabour founded his storefront law firm in 1980, his goal was to provide high-quality legal services in an honest and straightforward manner. In order to be fully transparent, he began advertising the prices of legal services on the wall. The purpose was to give the average consumer some sense of the cost of legal work. This shocked the legal establishment and broke all of the rules. Don fought this all the way to the Supreme Court of Canada. While the Supreme Court of Canada found the rules had been broken, the rules were quickly changed. In effect, Don Jabour won.
