Schovajsa, Holub & Barnes, LLP was established in 1965 by Henry J. Schovajsa and Walter Oeltjen. Henry served as Fayette County Judge from 1951-1966, while Walter served as Fayette County Attorney from 1951-1962. After the two finished with their public service, the two longtime friends and colleagues decided to open a law firm together. So became Oeltjen & Schovajsa (now Schovajsa, Holub & Barnes, LLP).
The firm still sits in the original building on the square in La Grange and is currently comprised of attorneys Benjamin Wm. Schovajsa, Hannah Bellue Holub, and Shannon M. Raabe-Barnes. Ben is the grandson of Henry Schovajsa and son of William H. Schovajsa, who practiced law at the firm from 1978 to 2016.
