The firm was founded in 1991 by Jim Mallon and John Lonnquist. In 2014, after celebrating its 23rd anniversary, the firm brought on two new partners and changed its name from Mallon & Lonnquist to Mallon Lonnquist Morris & Watrous.

We are dedicated to making sure that our clients know, trust, and enjoy working with us. The major source of our business is referrals from past and current clients. The basic nature of our practice is to work closely with our clients to solve problems in the most effective and cost efficient manner, and proactively help our clients avoid problems whenever possible.

Outside Counsel

For a number of our business clients, we act as outside general counsel, providing legal services with the special knowledge of the client's business and needs. We offer immediate access, broad legal coverage, one-on-one contacts in our firm, strategic planning, and the personal attention of an in-house legal department, but without the associated cost. As a result, we have saved our business clients hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal costs.

We maintain and cultivate business and professional relationships that can be helpful to our clients. When our clients have legal needs in another state, or in a specialized area of the law which we don't provide, we collaborate with our networks of specialty and local counsel across the country.

Litigation

In litigation matters, we have extensive experience in many judicial, administrative and regulatory bodies, including the Colorado county, municipal and district courts, Colorado appellate and supreme court, federal district courts and courts of appeal, and numerous local, state and federal regulatory and administrative agencies and tribunals. In non-judicial disputes, we have extensive experience in mediation and arbitration, both binding and non-binding.

We work proactively to help our clients avoid legal problems whenever possible and position them in as strong a position as practicable in the event of disputes or litigation. Our attorneys have a wealth of hands-on business, real estate and financial experience, members of the firm having owned and operated businesses, including title companies, commercial lending firms, and commercial and development real estate ventures.
