Our firm was established in the 1940s by a few local attorneys, looking to make a difference. Although the firm has evolved through the years, the tradition of providing the utmost legal expertise and commitment to our clients continues.

Richard J. Bartlett, Esq., died On May 6, 2015 after a lifetime of public service and unwavering dedication to the study and practice of law.
Born in Glens Falls, NY on February 15, 1926, he maintained his connection to the North Country throughout his life. After graduating from Harvard Law School in 1949, Dick returned to Glens Falls to start his distinguished law career. His many accomplishments included being a member of the New York State Assembly from 1959 through 1966, representing Warren County. In 1961, Gov. Nelson Rockefeller appointed him as chair of the New York State Temporary Commission on Revision of the Penal Law which performed the first major revision of New York State?s Penal Laws in more than 80 years. He served as justice of the Supreme Court from 1973 to 1979. During this time, he was appointed as the first chief administrative judge of the Unified Court System for the State of New York (1974-79) where he assisted in writing and obtaining voter support for the New York Constitutional Amendments that established the framework for the current unified court system in the state. He then served as professor and Dean of Albany Law School for seven years (1979-86).
