William M. Chanfrau, Jr. is the managing partner at Chanfrau & Chanfrau, where he has been a key figure since joining in 2001. He began his legal career in 1997 at the State Attorney's Office, successfully handling hundreds of misdemeanor and felony cases through both trials and plea negotiations. In 2001, he transitioned to Chanfrau & Chanfrau to work alongside his father, W. M. Chanfrau, Sr., and became managing partner in 2007. Today, he focuses primarily on representing plaintiffs in personal injury cases. He has received numerous recognitions, including being named one of America's Top 100 Attorneys in 2017.

A History of Helping Central Florida Find Justice
Our firm's founder, and our father, William Chanfrau, Sr., began his legal career in 1973 at the local firm of Cobb Cole and Bell, but his true calling was to be a trial lawyer representing the injured and common people, not the powerful. In 1976, he and his brother, Phil Chanfrau, Jr., founded this firm with a focus on standing up for individuals and families, and over the decades of practice, achieved substantial verdicts for their clients.

Throughout his distinguished career, William Sr. earned honors that reflected both his skill and integrity. He approached the law with both intellectual rigor, having graduated summa cum laude with highest honors from Stetson University College of Law, and genuine compassion for those he represented. He was board-certified as an Expert Civil Trial Attorney, maintained a Martindale-Hubbell AV Rating for decades, and was voted by his colleagues as one of the top trial attorneys in the United States. In 1981, the Florida Supreme Court awarded him the prestigious Pro Bono Award for founding the Volusia County Service Project to provide free legal services for the poor. He served as President of the Volusia County Bar Association, served on the state-wide Board of Governors, and was the founding President of the Volusia County Civil Trial Lawyers Association. The Florida Justice Association twice honored him with the "Silver Eagle Award" for his outstanding leadership.

Beyond courtroom victories and professional accolades, our father was known throughout the legal community for his quick wit, ethics, fairness to all, and the integrity he brought to every case.
