Established in 1968 by Warren H. Saltzman, Saltzman & Johnson Law Corporation has served as an independent legal counsel to multi-employer, collectively-bargained employee benefit plans, as well as public retirement and health plans, for over four decades. Richard C. Johnson joined the firm in 1974 and the firm took its current name in 1977. Originally located in the downtown financial district of San Francisco, California, the firm relocated to the City and County of Alameda in June, 2018. Saltzman & Johnson has long been committed to providing comprehensive legal services to its clients and has authored numerous opinions on complex issues involving both state and federal law. Additionally, the firm has brought its expertise to the representation of public retirement systems and of public sector health and welfare trusts since 1990. Today, Saltzman & Johnson represents a significant number of charter city and district retirement plans, while maintaining its commitment to providing independent advice to the Trustees or Directors, without representing either labor or management in labor relations.
