For over the past 75 years, Lindsay Hart, LLP has been privileged to serve as litigators and counsel to some of the most successful companies and individuals in Oregon and Washington. The firm has attracted and developed an exceptional array of legal talent, with many alumni going on to highly respected positions in the legal industry, the bar, and government. Chief Justice Thomas Balmer and Associate Justice Jack Landau are two former Lindsay Hart attorneys currently serving on the Oregon Supreme Court, while Chief Judge Rick Haselton, Judge Robert Wollheim, and Judge Rex Armstrong, all Lindsay Hart alumni, serve on the Oregon Court of Appeals. Additionally, six presidents of the Oregon State Bar have come from the firm, including Michael Haglund (2013-2014).Lindsay Hart, LLP was founded by Gunther F. Krause in 1932. After graduating from Columbia Law School in 1922, he was admitted to practice in Oregon the same year before joining the firm of Wood, Montague and Matthiessen in the early 1920s. In 1937, he and one of his associates, Walter H. Evans, Jr., formed the partnership of Krause and Evans, with Gunther's son Donald G. Krause becoming an associate of the firm in 1949. Expansion of the practice continued when Allan Hart joined the firm in 1957, and Neil Hart in 1963.The firm was renamed Lindsay Hart in 1994, and has since become a leader in providing creative legal strategies and utilizing cutting-edge, innovative technologies to advance the interests of their clients.
