OUR HISTORY
Hall, Bloch, Garland & Meyer has been providing exceptional legal service to its clients for well over 100 years. The firm that would eventually become Hall, Bloch, Garland & Meyer has been in continuous existence since the latter part of the 19th century. The firm was originally founded by John J. Hall after he returned to Macon from Washington, D.C. where he worked as an assistant attorney general in the Grover Cleveland administration. In the beginning, his primary client was the Georgia Southern and Florida Railway Company, which is now a part of Norfolk Southern Railway Company, and still a major client of the firm.

In the early part of the 20th century, John J. Hall was joined by trial lawyer J. E. Hall and Charles J. Bloch, a leading attorney on constitutional law. Later Ellsworth Hall, Jr., a specialist in railroad law and governmental law, joined the firm and carried on its strong tradition of service.

The firm continued to grow in the following decades and developed into a full service law firm. The firm's traditions of exceptional legal service, professional integrity, and helping those in need have been constant throughout its long existence. In 2011, the firm merged with the Atlanta law firm of Crowley and Clarida, LLP. The firm retained the name Hall, Bloch, Garland & Meyer, LLP and continues its tradition of legal excellence. With the addition of our Atlanta attorneys and staff, we are well positioned to serve our clients anywhere within the state of Georgia.
