Founded on Valentine's Day in 1922 by Walter G. Winne and Horace F. Banta, Winne Banta Basralian & Kahn, P.C. is one of the oldest and largest full-service law firms in New Jersey, particularly in Bergen County. Its two founding partners were two of the most prominent members of the legal community in their time. Walter Winne served as United States Attorney for the District of New Jersey, a delegate to the 1947 Constitutional Convention for the State of New Jersey, and a board member responsible for overseeing the formation of the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey. Horace Banta served as Supreme Court Commissioner and Special Master in the Chancery Division of the Courts, city attorney for Hackensack, Bergen County Adjuster and Chairman of the Bergen County Welfare Board, and President of the Bergen Bar Association.
