Founded in 1882 by prominent mining lawyer William Howard Dickson, Parsons Behle & Latimer has stood the test of time, providing exceptional service to its clients for over 130 years. When Judge Dickson moved to Utah, he brought his office furniture, including a roll top desk, book cases and chairs, which remain in the firm's main office in downtown Salt Lake City. Judge Dickson was appointed by the United States President to serve as U.S. Attorney for Utah from 1884-1887. His law partner, Charles Stetson Varian, and he established the practice in Salt Lake City during the flurry of mining activity in the area. At that time, the firm assisted in the organization of over 100 mining companies, including Utah Copper Company (now known as Kennecott Utah Copper), Hercules Powder Company, and Columbia Geneva Iron Mining Company.Under the leadership of President and CEO Hal J.
