In the beginning

Cheatham and Palermo was founded in 1973 when the happily married Denty Cheatham and Rose Palermo decided to combine legal forces. Denty has fostered quite a diverse practice in his 46 years as a lawyer, working diligently on cases spanning criminal law, personal injury law, real estate law, appellate work, and social security disability benefits.

The highly qualified Rose Palermo is known to many as the "attorney to the stars" due to her representation of many music industry icons. Her 43 years of practice and hard work in the legal field have yielded consistent rankings among her clients, fellow attorneys, and area publications as one of Nashville's top family law attorneys. Denty and Rose have been sharing their legal expertise with the Nashville community since 1973, and continue to help families and individuals resolve their legal issues from their conveniently located Music Row office.
All great things grow and prosper

In 1996, the dynamic duo of Cheatham and Palermo decided to expand forces with the addition of David Garrett, a highly outstanding lawyer who concentrates his practice in divorce cases. The name of the firm subsequently changed to Cheatham, Palermo & Garrett, more casually known as CPG Law. In 2008, looking to better serve his hometown of Franklin, Tennessee, David opened the Franklin Office in the quaint little house that belonged to his grandparents. David was joined by Jacob Thorington in 2007 and Jason Talley in 2013, growing CPG twofold and making the Franklin office the success it is today. Together, as former Eagle Scouts and active members of the Franklin community, they strive to personify the maxim of service to others, providing their clients with earnest representation as a means of achieving a realistic resolution.
