Proud of his native heritage, Gary is an Oklahoma Choctaw who has devoted a substantial part of his extensive career to providing valuable legal counsel to tribes and Indian organizations across the country. A member of the Oklahoma Bar Association since 1978, Gary is an experienced criminal and civil trial lawyer who now spends much of his time advising and representing tribes and Indian organizations in their dealings with state and federal government agencies as well as with congressional staff. He is a frequent guest speaker and attends various legal and business conferences and seminars to speak on a variety of topics including federal, state and tribal relations and Tribal Gaming Law. He is widely recognized for his expertise and representation in financial dealings with Indian tribes, tribal-state relations, constitutional law, gaming management agreements, and gaming law. He is an adjunct law professor and member of the faculty of the University of Oklahoma College of Law where he teaches courses in Indian Gaming Law and Regulation. He serves on a variety of professional panels and advisory committees and is active in advising and directing the efforts of state and national trade organizations.
