Bracewell is closely monitoring and responding to developments related to the coronavirus. This includes taking steps to safeguard the health and safety of our employees and clients. Through the end of April, all in-person seminars, CLE programs and other public events scheduled to take place in our offices have been cancelled or postponed. Lawyers have also been asked to reschedule any in-person meetings as conference calls or video conferences. Bracewell has called Houston home since opening in 1945. As the city has developed into a global center for the energy industry, Bracewell has also grown into an international law firm. Patrick Oxford, our Chairman, has served as chairman of the Greater Houston Partnership and as a member of board of directors of Texas Medical Center, Inc. which coordinates the activities in and around the Texas Medical Center, the world's largest. Over the years, five of our partners have served as President of Houston's Bar Association. Three other partners have served on the board of Houston's outstanding institutions of higher education: Rice University, The University of Houston and Texas Southern University. Our pro bono and civic involvement in Houston is diverse and widespread and currently includes services to: Texas Community Building with Attorney Resources (C-Bar), The Houston Volunteer Lawyers Program, Houston Food Bank, Dress for Success Interfaith Ministries and many others.
