Barnes & Thornburg LLP brought a new member to their trusts and estates team in Chicago. Natalie Perry will be a partner in the Corporate Department. There she will focus on estate, gift and income tax planning as well as business succession planning. She is joining from Ice Miller.

Perry is also a Certified Public Accountant, which greatly adds to her ability to help high net worth families and business owners and work on matters like asset protection strategies, tax planning and wealth transition, and the formation and administration of charitable trusts and private foundations.

Managing partner Mark Rust of the Barnes & Thornburg Chicago office said, “Natalie works with families and closely held businesses on estate and corporate planning issues that range from the routine to the complex. She will play an instrumental role in further developing the sophisticated services that we deliver to private clients in the Midwest and across the country.”

Perry earned her J.D. from DePaul University College of Law and a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University. When she was starting out, she was a wealth adviser for JPMorgan’s Private Bank. There she helped business owners with succession planning. Last year, she was elected to the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel. Fellows are elected based on their professional reputation, skills, and contributions to the industry through things like teaching, writing, lecturing, and bar activities.
