Melville office of a BCG Attorney Search Top Ranked Law Firm seeks employment law associate attorney preferably with 2-4 years of experience. The candidate will partner with data analysts to design, create, and analyze employer workforce diversity, hiring, compensation and other trends in client Human Resources data and provide legal advice based on those analyses. Will provide ongoing advice and counseling on equal opportunity compliance, regularity requirements, and best practices employment process design. Work closely with in-house data analysts and statisticians to prepare regulatory required affirmative action plans, and defend employer equal opportunity practices during audits by the United States Department of Labor and oversee privileged pay equity analyses and provide advice and counseling regarding fair pay. Oversee the preparation of various compliance reports including EEO-1 and VETS-4212 reports. Advising on equal employment opportunity laws and practices to assess and advance workplace equity. Assisting with proactive, privileged pay equity analyses to help identify and close unexplained gender- and race-based pay gaps. Counseling on the design, development, and implementation of affirmative action plans. Overseeing the preparation of regulatorily required employer affirmative action plans. Defending employers in Office of Federal Contract Compliance (OFCCP) compliance reviews, including against claims of systemic discrimination in employer hiring, promotion, termination, and pay. Advising and training employers on a wide range of employment laws and regulations, including anti-discrimination, pay equity, pre-employment testing, applicant tracking systems and hiring processes, reductions-in-force, and other federal contractor obligations. Providing proactive advice and counsel to employers on related laws. Client development and management. Prior experience with equity/EEO laws and affirmative action regulations preferred. NY Bar Admission preferred.
The candidate should have a JD degree from accredited law school, with excellent academic credentials. Must have ability to work in a collaborative team and effectively oversee other professionals. Should have excellent written and oral communication skills. Must have strong organization, problem-solving, critical thinking, analytical, and communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills, team player, and project manager essential. Must have strong attention to detail. Client service orientation needed. Excellent attention to detail, including working with large data reports essential. Strong organizational and project management skills, including managing numerous projects at once needed.
