Job Overview

A respected law firm is seeking a Real Estate Associate with 3–6 years of transactional experience to join its San Francisco, California office. The role focuses on complex, high-value real estate transactions, particularly those involving mixed-use developments, residential projects, and hospitality properties. This position involves substantial contract drafting and requires a candidate who can translate intricate deal structures across multiple documents. The role provides the opportunity to work on sophisticated matters alongside experienced attorneys in a supportive, high-performing environment.

Duties

  • Handle complex real estate transactions, including acquisitions, sales, and development projects

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of transactional documents with a focus on:

    • Mixed-use development agreements

    • Hospitality and residential real estate contracts

    • Corporate and commercial real estate components

  • Collaborate with senior attorneys, clients, and external stakeholders

  • Translate complex legal and business concepts across multiple related documents

  • Conduct legal research and due diligence as required

Requirements

  • 3–6 years of relevant experience in transactional real estate law

  • Prior involvement in complex real estate or corporate transactions

  • Experience with mixed-use or residential development and/or hospitality is required

  • Ability to manage multiple complex matters efficiently

  • Submission of a writing sample reflecting transactional drafting competency is required

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

  • Strong academic background preferred

Certifications

  • Must be admitted to the California State Bar and in good standing

Skills

  • Advanced legal drafting and document structuring skills

  • Strong understanding of real estate and corporate transaction frameworks

  • Excellent attention to detail and technical writing proficiency

  • Ability to handle complex legal concepts and manage large-scale deals
