Job Overview:
A leading national law firm focused on family law is seeking a dedicated Associate Attorney to join its Albany, New York office. This role is ideal for early-career attorneys with a strong interest or background in domestic litigation. Location:

  • Albany, New York

Duties:

  • Represent clients in a broad range of family law matters, including:

    • Divorce

    • Child custody and visitation

    • Spousal support

    • Property division

  • Draft pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, and related legal documents

  • Conduct legal research and remain informed on updates in family law

  • Represent clients in court proceedings, including hearings and trials

  • Advise clients on their legal rights and potential outcomes

  • Work collaboratively with paralegals and legal support staff to ensure efficient case handling

Requirements:

  • 0–3 years of experience in family law litigation preferred

  • Strong understanding of New York family law statutes and procedures

  • Bar admission in the state of New York and in good standing

  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive client issues with professionalism

  • Capacity to manage a diverse caseload under deadlines

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the state of New York

Skills:

  • Excellent legal research, writing, and advocacy skills

  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities

  • Organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work both independently and as part of a team

  • Empathy and professionalism in client interactions
