Washington D.C. office of a BCG Attorney Search Top Ranked Law Firm seeks a biochemistry patent agent with 10 years of patent prosecution experience. The candidate will conduct prior art database searches for patentability and freedom to operate analyses; analyze patent and scientific papers and documents to assist patent attorneys on patent prosecution, counseling, and litigation; draft patent applications and responses to office actions; and advise lawyers on technology issues in preparation for depositions. Must have a Ph.D. in biotechnology or biochemistry. Mandarin Chinese fluency is a plus. A strong academic record and the ability to work with a variety of technologies are required. Must be registered to practice before the USPTO or have the ability to obtain registration within six months of starting with the firm.

This mid-sized firm represents a broad range of business, commercial and litigation practices. On the corporate side, substantive areas of law practiced include securities, mergers and acquisitions, tax, health care, estate planning, public finance, real estate, commercial lending, intellectual property, international and trade finance. Litigation services provided to their clients include commercial and banking litigation, medical malpractice and product liability defense, intellectual property matters, construction contract disputes, employment litigation and environmental law.
